i have an andalusian/spanish arabian cross. her
name is bolita, she is nine years old, 15.3 hands
and a little over 1000 lbs. she was a lesson horse
at a farm west of chicago year before last, and had
little girls showing her in the english classes.
she has done a few ld rides and a few 50s. i had
two R/O pulls with her, but it was my fault. tried
to do 50 at the alabama yellowhammer last year when
she wasnt ready, then ran too fast in that heat at
liberty run this may. my niece jackie finished top
ten on her in the 55 at ponce de leon pirate run
earlier this year. this mare is a smooth, easy
ride. long stride, great recoveries, sucks up food
and water like a shop vac. these horses can do it.

the international andalusian and lusitano horse
association is alive and well in the united states.
this mare is registered half andalusian and half
arabian. i havent contacted the hispano arabe
association yet.

i have an 8 month old colt that is sired by my
andalusian stallion, out of a polish bred arabian
mare. this colt looks really good, even though he
does have a dish face like his mother. nice,
strong legs, and really good movement. time will
tell how he does.

we have another andalusian/arabian "in the oven",
my friend allison's mare. have to wait until next
spring to hear about that one.

and y'all thought i just did mustangs. hehe :-)
