[RC] arab/paso, arab mule opinions - Ed Kilpatrick

hi mel,   it seems as if you need to make some decisions about what you are trying to accomplish here.   what is your intended use for this mare's offspring?  if you breed your arab mare to a paso fino stallion, there is no guarantee that the offspring would be gaited.  if you want gait,  lease a paso mare and breed her to the paso stallion, or sell the breeding and use the money toward the purchase of a paso fino horse that is ready to ride. you will have no problem selling that breeding, i can assure you.
if you like the spanish look, then i would suggest breeding your arab mare to the andalusian stallion instead.  since both the andalusian and the arab are trotting breeds with very good movement,  you should definitely get that.
you might still consider sticking with the idea to breed your arab mare to an arab stallion.   why dont you email me privately, whytrotfarmsatyahoodotcom,  and i can show you some pictures of the andalusian/spanish arabian mare,  andalusian/polish arabian colt,  and the andalusian/paso fino filly.
i dont have a lot of experience with mules, but i looked at a nice 3 year old paso fino mule this weekend.  he just needs some ground work, so that i will be able to tell if he is gaited.
there are some good mules out there doing endurance and it is likely that the arab has been used to produce some.  dont have any info on that, but maybe someone else does.    ed
