==========================================

I am in the process of mending from several broken ribs and
a collapsed lung due to a big sideways spook. I've been
riding this mare for about eight years. She doesn't normally
spook sideways, just slams on the brakes when something
scares her. Well, this time three of us were just jogging
along at a slow trot and I wasn't paying as much attention as
I should when she jumped at least 10 to 15' sideways. It happened
so fast that I was on the ground in an instant, landing on my
upper left back. Rode her back to the trailer and drove an hour
home. Husband wanted me to go to the doctor, but brave me said
"no." Two days later I was in ER and the rest is history. I'm
now looking for a much more dependable mount and hoping I am not
too afraid to get back to my prior riding ability. It's hard to
get back on, but I will because I love riding so much. This is
the second set of broken ribs. They aren't fun.
