The majority doesn't rule, except if the county wants it that way. Eminent domain is one that they seem to be using for big business to come in and take home owners homes to build strip malls, etc. All for the good of the community. BS, all for the good of padding the pockets of local politicians. Well guess the majority rule went out with the last election, right? GWB lost by 500,000 votes and he's in the WH. G.Affleck

MANURE IS THE SUBJECT.. HOW AND TREATMENT OF IT? NEWCOMERS TO MEADOW VISTA, CA. CAUSING HAVIC WITH OLD TIME HORSE OWNERS.....
We have recently been approached by a Placer County code officer with a complaint from a"newcomer" neighbor of a few years. He stated that our horses smelled? and made dust? AND that we have too many horses.??
We have been at our address for 30 years and had up to 10 or so nd never had a complaint..!
I gathered a collection of 35 wounderful letters from all our other neighbors. The neighbors are also outraged at this newcomers attack.
The county said the majority does not rule? BUT... in looking into our case ....they decided it would be wiser to drop their complaint AT THIS TIME? WITH THE AGREEMENT THAT we must keep the manure out and away from that side of the property and do the best you can and just hope forthe best?
The inspector said he thought our place was perfect for horses and that we did a great job of cleaning up and keeping things orderly and so no reason for this complaint .. unfortunately they have to at least address it by law.
I move the manure out to the pasture and spread it once a week..from plies I have made during the week and mixed with DRY STALL... Unfortunately when moving from the back to the front it is quite a lot of manuvoring with a big wheel barrle and I am starting to show the WEAR AND TEAR of it all..
I am ...I thought ? a young 61 ha. feel old right now? 5 horses is a big pile of manure ha..but I just can not see us getting ride of the old faithful horse or the baby thats our future.. and we ride all the time and use these horses.So I keep shoveling ha..
NOW COMES THE REQUEST FOR SUGESTIONS.. I need to remove about 10 or so very big carts of manure mixed with dry stall and leaves and dirt. I am trying to get rid of all the extra dirt along with the manure to keep the dust down.
ALSO transporting grain and bran sacks from my truck over to the barn... Maybe even move a bail at a time..
I HAVE LOOKED AT GATORS AND MULES and ATV`S really are too big and pricey .
We thought maybe a MOWER and CART ..SMALLER TURNING RADIUS.. .smaller over all..and still powerful enough to pull a 400# load.?but a mower? Do they make a SMALLER VERSION of a GATOR OR MULE that could PULL a manure spreader or cart?
THERE JUST HAS TO BE AN EASIER WAY to MOVE THIS MANUREand HORSEY STUFF? OVERWHELMED IN MEADOW VISTA.CA. KATHERINE YOUNG PALMER (530) 878-8059
