[RC] disel engines - long - GarnerT

I've always hated the sound of diesel engines, but now that I'm doing more
rides, doing some multiday rides & am looking forward to that first 100,
we've purchased a new Ford 2005 one ton, four wheel drive, diesel! It's
funny, I sure don't hear that sound from inside!

My husband's old 1992 Ford has been a great truck, but is was a 3/4 ton, 2
wheel drive. By the time we added our camper, trailer, horse, hay, water,
etc., that truck had to work! We've gone up the Grapevine to LA rides with
it, & up to Bridgeport, so it did the job, but it had to work!

The nice thing about the new Ford trucks is the trailer brake component is
in the dash. They finally realized that most people who purchase a big
truck are going to tow something, so the lightbulb went on! It's also
really easy to put it into 4 wheel drive (they have 2 levels), so if I need
to go by myself, I'm good to go. (I'm not mechanically gifted).

We'll be taking it to Davenport on 10/16. If I have anything horrible to
report, believe me, you'll hear it!

P.S. It smells so good inside. Love that new car smell! Too bad they
don't have a men's cologne with that scent!
