Re: [RC] [RC] disel engines - Howard Bramhall

I love the diesel. The one amazing thing is a 6 cylinder diesel engine can pull your house. You don't need to go to an 8 cylinder diesel ever. I highly recommend the Cummings engine I have in my 1999 Dodge 2500. Best truck I"ve ever purchased and I plan on keeping it forever.

What is so incredible about this truck is when I'm not hauling, on the Interstate, I get 27 mpg. I come very close to making it from Florida to our land in Tennessee, 565 miles, ten hour drive, on one tank of diesel. One tank, and that includes that incredible climb getting up into Asheville, NC.

Ford, Chev and Chrysler motors all sell trucks with diesel engines. They are all good. Diesel engines are best for heavy pulling, for a number of reasons.

A "Hemi" is just Chrysler's gasoline engine. The use of "Hemi" refers to the shape of the combustion chambers. They go back to the later '50's. Chrysler has always claimed that a "Hemi" has more power than other gasoline engines. As far as I am concerned it is just an advertising claim.
