Re: [RC] questions on gelding - Kristen A Fisher

Neutering male dogs reduces/eliminates the chances of prostate/testicular cancers - is the same true for horses?

Subject: [RC] questions on gelding

hi beth, in your last paragraph, it sounds like you answered your own question!  :-)  and if you are more interested in this colt as a riding/using type,  then by all means geld him.

stallions can require a lot of work to manage, even the very best behaved ones.  there is a lot of work, time and effort involved in providing stallion service, even with a small client base.  tell your husband that if he wants to keep this colt as a stallion, HE has to do all the work!   :-)    ed
