[RC] Questiions about Gelding a Colt - Jonni Jewell

My husband (who has NEVER neutered anything he owns) thinks that I need
to wait a few years to geld him.<<<

Your hubby is just thinking like many men seem to about "cutting them off".
Ask him if it would be fair to have the colt have urges, but not be able to
do anything about it. (and how would he like that situation??? LOL)

Zane is a very nice stallion. But just because this is the only intact colt
by him, does not mean he should be kept that way. You were not breeding your
mare, with the hopes of getting a nice stallion were you? My guess, you
wanted a nice horse to ride down the trail. Really read over all the other
posts. Everyone is right on. Having a stallion in the barn is a big
decision, and one that should not be taken lightly. If you weigh out all the
reasons, and still feel this is a horse with stallion potential, then go
with it.

Jonni (and her 5 geldings!!!)
