[RC] Girths - Maria Berger

Even though I always ride with a sheepskin girthcover and my girth has elastic on both ends, my mare develops soreness along the girth after riding for several hours. She has been ridden for > 2 years, so it is not that she isn't used to a girth. We ride NATRC Open and we will do our first 50 mile endurance ride next month. Would a mohair girth be worth a try? Does anybody has experience with this kind of girth on an English saddle?
