[RC] horse behavior--trying to interpret - Alice Yovich

I get this with my mare also, who is a low horse also. I have always thought that b/c she is low in the field that she is "inappropriately" trying to exert herself as the boss while riding b/c the other horse can't defend his position while being ridden. It's like she's trying to bully the new horse first. And, that's all it is: she's being a bully. If she actually had to "fight" she'd be lost.

But can anyone explain or tell me just what she is
attempting to do...or tell the other horses? Is she
showing a wee bit of being a mare or challenging her
status or what?
