The main thing I noticed was that my horse had a lot more sweat running off his back than my training partners horses and they had the Equipedic. The pad works great, his back sweat is much less and he has had it on for hundreds of miles this summer. I almost ordered one this past weekend and then decided not to since everything I'd seen talked only about making an ill-fitting treed saddle fit better (like a too-wide saddle fit) or used with a treeless saddle.
