[RC] re:opinions - larry Miller

When I posted my orginal, I was only trying to point out that bashing never gets one anywhere.  I too belong to HS as well as ridecamp.  I enjoy both lists but I certainly learn more from HS.  I like the fact that no bashing is allowed, it makes one think carefully before one posts and it makes one post only relative stuff.  Do I post on both?  You betcha I do.  Do I disagree with either list at times?  You betcha I do.  Do I post my disagreements?  You betcha I do.  BUT, I try to do so tactfully.  After all, bashing only leaves a bad taste in one's mouth and it never proves anything either.  Any opinion, whether positive or negative is going to teach one something and that is how one learns.  The one thing I have learned is that I don't like myself when I am negative and so I try harder to find some good in whatever I read or whatever I see or whatever I say.  There are always two sides to every story and the truth lies in the middle.  I don't have to like what I hear or read but I don't have to be mean about it either.  Am I perfect?  Good grief no!  But I have been in this sport since 1971, am still competing, finally got one of my own horses to 5000 miles, which isn't a whole lot, not like 10,000 (yea Roberta), but it is something. Jeanie
