because you said he even got bumps with a very loose girth....what happens
if you pony the horse, and work him well, getting a good sweat. I'd be
curious of the horse broke out in bumps even without a girth.  Do you pass
through any tall weeds on the way to the trail, or in the wash? Something
that might be rubbing against the horse? A change in bedding? It could just
be the sweat in the girth area triggers something else, other than the
girth.
