I too have found that the "shock absorbing" stirrups aggrevate mine. What Truman says jives with my shin splints too. Probably the narrow base shoe aggrevates what is alread there. I can't remember the name of the stirrups I use, but love them. I will look it up. They would not work for someone with a huge foot.
