[RC] netted roundbales??????? - Laurie DurginHave been using roundbales for years. Have a tubular metal hayring, leave the string on, till done, they start at the ends and eat.I pick up string when done.Wa--la. Mimimal work. Now my Alabama farmer decides to get into the technology era and gets netting for his bales. MMMmmm, now what ? If I cut the netting off, it will cascade all over and thru the ring. I thought about leaving it on initially, them maybe cutting it off halfway thru? Or peel it partway back and let them eat into the ends like they usually do?--- I look at the mesh and it is very close and fine. sort of like dental floss. Hhmmm , could they get this caught in their teeth? Not that they have ever eaten haystring either. Help me think of potential disasters here to advoid..... No, I dont' want to take it off and dole out sections daily, that is like major work--did I mentions I tend to have grass allergies....and when it gets wet, I'd be trudging thru the mud.... And I thought of 'retying the bale' with rope or something...another unpleaseantly worked thought.... _________________________________________________________________ Get ready for school!
