RE: [RC] [RC] Where/How to Donate a Horse/Arabian - Jody Rogers-Buttram

I agree with Laurie here, you may want to wait.  I had an endurance horse that competed the last oh, about 8 yrs. of his career with no sight at all in his left eye.  He did night rides, and even did the Race of Champions blind in one eye.  You never really could tell it while riding him, just had to be careful leading cause he might step on you.  I learned to put my hand on his shoulder so he knew where I was when leading or trotting him out.

If you really like this horse, you might want to reconsider and wait.If he
proves to be sound otherwise he could still be used. There is an endurance
horse in the Se who regualary competes, I believe who has one eye and is
actually calmer on that side. I also know a hunter who regularily competes
who is blind in one eye.
