I can't comment on Steph's weather, but am somewhat near Drin, and had the
experience in the wee hours Monday morning (August 23, mind you!) of
having to be life-flighted to Missoula, MT with acute appendicitis,
because the closer option (Hamilton, MT) has no instrument approach to
their airport and it was snowing in the mountains and raining down below. 
Was driven home yesterday, and had the view of snow-dusted peaks--and had
the windshield wipers dealing with "chunky rain" coming over Lost Trail
Pass...  Ah, summer is such a fleeting thing!

(As for the appendicitis--caught it quick, they got it out with a
laparascope, and I'm almost as good as new--back in the saddle before
long!)
