[RC] crossing canadian border - M. Paul Latiolais

I was just talking to a friend of mine who is a trail rider, but not an
endurance
rider. She just came back from a trailride in Canada. I asked her if she
brought
her own horse. She said "no" because US customs told her that the horse would
have to be quarantined for several weeks when she came back over the border.

Now I know this can't be true. Endurance riders cross that border about every
week. so the question is,"What do you need?"
I assume you need a recent (?) health certificate including coggins and a brand
inspection. What else?

She also told me that this Fall "they" (US Immigration?) were going to start
requiring a passport for US citizens going into Canada. Has anyone heard
anything
like that?

Thanks,

-Paul L
