I am not looking at gps/walkie-talkies or cell phones as an advantage but
the ones I saw at S2S sure would be good "security" in that if a rider were
lost, they could orient themselves to their position and the position of
their crew and the trail.  And on those long stretches where you don't see a
soul and there is no place to crew a rider, they could simply be a
confidence marker.  I want a set and will have one.
