Re: [RC] Free N' Easy again...sry - heidi sowards

Mine is fit to just this one horse, but other horses that have a similar shape would do just fine I think. I have one horse that is MUCH narrower and I use a whole different saddle as the saddle doesn't even adjust that much between the two. I think if I adjusted it alot (it's basically tightening 4 screws) I'd get used to it and be comfortable with it, but I'm a wuss and had Marlene do it. Lari Shea e-mailed me privately and said she didn't adjust between horses and had no trouble. You might talk to her about her saddles.

Hello.
I am the one who first posted an e-mail asking what people thought about their Free N Easy saddles.  Well, I have ridden in quite a few saddles myself, a stubben, a couple westerns, an express lite orthoflex, an old traditional orthoflez, and 2 other types of english saddles.  And I have never had to adjust anything on my saddle.  I never wanted a saddle that I had to "adjust", for people who don't know me, I ride a lot of different horses.  And let em tell you...they are ALL different body sizes from my own very refined arab gelding to a big stout quarter horse looking arabian gelding.  I like my orthoflex for that very reason, it fits just about thing.  And my dad and I have never really been into, lets get a saddle for this certain horse because we have never had problems with any of our horses backs.  We just put the saddle we have on them and ride off and they are always perfect.

My concern is, almost all of you keep saying you ahve to "adjust" your saddle.  Well, my dad is making me sell my "pecious" orthoflex saddle if I get a new one.  And trust me...I need a new one.  But if I get a new saddle, I don't want to ahve to adjust my saddle every time I ride a new horse.  And a lot of you said, well I would get a professional to come adjust your saddle.  Well the thing is, I don't have the time money, or patience to have a person come out every time I ride a different horse.  I might be thinking this wrong, and please do correct me(but don't be mean plase:(!!!) But it has made it SOUND like everyone who has this saddle has "adjusted" it for a certain horse.  Can anyone help me?  I am thinking about also gettin a new stubben since that was my very first saddle and I LOVED it and I enver had to adjust it to the 5-6 different hroses I rod e:)!!!   SO if anyone can tell me about the whole adjust me thing, please let me know.

I do realize though that with most saddles, they ask for a measurement of the horses back so they can alreayd pre-fit it, but I have never had that happenw ith any saddles before. hm...

thank you all!
