Re: [RC] Free N Easy Saddles - heidi sowards

hi Erin, I have had my saddle about 2 years now. It's the Trekker (cheaper model) and I adore it! My horse is doing great in it as well. I'd say with stirrups/pads and other gear it's about 30 lbs. give or take. The F&E company did a great thing by listening to their customers and made the saddle pads a little longer as some (my horse was one) had some flap rubbing problems. That is now taken care of. My gelding has done about 5 LD's and his first 50 in July. Marlene Moss adjusted my saddle last year as my horse was only 7 and changing musculature and I can't say enough good things about this saddle. I have a bad back (lower) and I can ride in this more than one day in a row! My other saddles made me want to take 3 days off in between rides. They don't have as deep of a seat as I'd like for my spooky boy, but maybe I just need a better seat!? He dumped me in June, I broke three vertebrae wings and then 2 months later I rode a 50 in it and my back felt fine! The leather is nice, the pads are wonderful (I have the wool/sheepskin and a cotten set for everyday riding.) Get more than one set of those if you get the saddle. The dees seem very secure, I do ride with a breastcollar and crupper. Good luck and let us know what you think!

Hello Everyone!

I am thinking about trying out a Free N' Easy Endurance demo saddle(the black one).  I am trying to change to a lighter english saddle compared to my(with saddle pack, but no water bottles) 40+ lb old traditional orthoflex.

I rode my 1st couple of 50's and my 1st 100 in a stubben english saddle and I loved it, it was such a comfortable ride.  I rode in a stubben for my beginning years of riding(from when I was about 7yrs old to 12).  I have always loved the english feel.  I have so much more freedom compared to the Orthoflex.  And plus, its nice to have freedom in your legs when you have knee problems like myself.

So...I was wondering if anyone knew how much a Free N' Easy Endurance saddle weighs.  I have looked at a lot of information on them, but I can't quite seem to find the exact weight of it.  Also, I have already had people tell me that its a wonderful saddle.  But I was wondering if I could get some more feed back on the saddle for those who have ridden in it!  Dislikes are recommended so I know what people like and don't like.  But I am going to try a Demo definately before I get one, I just wanted some advice ahead of time

Thank You
-Erin
