Re: [RC] Horse Identification (Kyro Kinetics) - Barbara McCrary

The only horse we ever had that was freeze branded was grey. The numbers
showed up as black skin. It was reasonably legible, as I remember.

Does anybody have a picture of a grey horse's freeze mark? I am thinking
of getting Kyro Kinetics to freeze mark my greys, but I'm concerned that it
will not show up well and would like picture confirmation.

Thanks,

KK made a mistake many yrs ago on my stallion and they altered the symbols
to fix it. Besides to many people are not going to go through that much
trouble to find the same size brand, find liquid nitrogen and change a
number. The main reason I did it was for horses that were sold or resold and
papers never get transfer then someone down the road wants papers. These
horses can always be IDed. Another good reason was when I went to someone's
farm after the death of the owner, all they had were 30 greys and no one
knew who was who. Several of the older ones were freeze branded, they were
IDed, papers were transferred and they went on but the other never were
figured out so were sold without papers.
