[RC] Hoof disease?? or Normal? - amy

Hello All! Well, I am probably going to call a vet
but I am dealing with an unknown hoof problem? or not
a problem? right now. I thought my horse had thrush,
the bottom was a litle soft and a little white powder
would come off when I scraped. He has been shedding
out his frog, strips will come off and it is white
underneath and smelly. However, I have no black
discharge at all, none. And I live in AZ so we went
from super dry conditions to wet mud conditions for a
few days a week. His stall is clean, farrier is out
regularly and he is in fine shape, I ride a ton, no
lameness. Is it possible that the moisture just
caused the foot to soften on the bottom and the frog
to grow out and fall off since it has not been
trimmed?? Or is there another fungus or bacteria
invading? I have used thrushbuster to no avail(DUH,
it is not thrush) otherwise everday application of
betadine and sugar. Anyone seen this before? Thanks! Amy
