[RC] tevis photos- rider position - Ed Kilpatrick

kind of interesting, now that i look closely.   i see lots of different things.  and of course, it is very subjective.  :-)    keep in mind that this was on a downhill, some were trotting, others walking, all kinds of things to consider.   asked to consider these photos and try to establish a correlation to finishing the ride?  dang near impossible, and probably not relevant.   in my opinion,  i see at least as many with their feet too far back as i do with them to far forward.  the problem with feet to far back is "rearend over appetite" if something happens, especially going downhill. hand and arm position is important too, when it comes to balanced riding.  there is lots of variation in arm/hand position in these photos.
i like what john wayne said, "you can come in sittin' up in your saddle, or laying across it!  but you're comin' in!"   at the tevis cup ride, comin' in is good.   :-)    ed
