Re: [RC] Northern CA, West Nile Virus - Renie M burnettAn update on my fellow endurance rider's Quarterhorse mare; They have taken her to the vet on Friday and a call from Linda says they are returning to the vet again this A.M. She was dosed again with oil, pain meds and antibiotics yesterday, and has an IV in for fluids, etc. Linda and her husband have been staying up all night with the mare, taking 2 hour shifts. At one time, the mare had quite a high temp,on Wed. However, at this time, the mare's vitals are very good. But, she has not yet passed any of the oil. She has had no food for 48 hours. The vet is convinced that there is a blockage, but not a twist because of the good vital signs. This morning, Linda informed me, the mare is cranky and uncomfortable. I will send more info as I receive it. Thanks for all your well wishes.
