I haven't used the new Boa but here's what I know.......the Old Macs have a
thicker bottom, and if you get the right size they don't come off.  I have
been using them for 3 yrs and many hundreds of miles (including 3 50 mile
rides) and haven't ever had one come off.  They are very easy to put on and
off.

We have an older horse who is having hoof and joint problems in his old
age.
Our farrier has suggested not shoeing him but using Old Macs for the few
times when he is ridden.  She likes them because they are padded.  Would
the
new Boa Boot be a better option?  Are they padded?  Are they easier or
harder to put on than the Old Macs?  I have used EZ boots but am not
familiar with these other two.  Thanks of the help.
