[RC] to rasp or not to rasp - A. Perez

My farrier does this as well and like you, I'd rather she
didn't.  The outside of the hoof has a glassy surface or
'coating' that I feel should not be disturbed.  I think if this
surface is damaged, the hoof walls are more prone to drying.  I
also don't care for the way the rasp marks look.  It's not a
huge deal, but I don't think the additional rasping servs any
purpose.
