[RC] Sweepstakes money - Bette Lamore

Can be quite lucrative in endurance:, however, if one excludes the trainer costs, show costs etc., it seems to be more of an ego thing in the show world. We won Reserve Champion for Excylenz at Region I in 1990 and got a check for $1000. Trouble was, the show-- just the show costs with lodging, entrance fees and trainers fees (for the show only) was $2500! Oh well, it paid for some of our costs and promoted his sire, Explodent so for us as breeders it made some sense at the time and we bought him already nominated. When you think of your cost at rides and put them into perspective with show costs, you quickly realize you all have a very good deal! :-)
