[RC] We have hit the 100 mark on signatures! - rides2far

Well Betty I took time to sign it. You're at 106.

I'll never forget how shocked I was when I went to my first ride and all
those Arabs were standing around in one strand corrals...acting....like
normal horses. I'll tell you one place where some "educating" of the
breeders has gone on and that's at the Pyramid Challenge endurance ride.
It's held at the same time as the huge Egyptian Event horse show and
people from the show wander down to the ridecamp. They look around and
sort of blink a few times to make sure they believe their eyes. We talked
to a guy who was there with his wife who was showing. He had been
recruited to help out at a water stop and was just beside himself. He
couldn't believe that the same breed that his wife had up there might be
rugged enough to consider doing what we were doing. He was planning to
swipe one of hers and get started training for the next year. Wonder if
that turned out. I also talked to a breeder about needing good backs and
such for our horses. You could see that they were interested in what we
had to say. I'll admit that before I did endurance I never gave backs
much thought. Sometimes I think those people in the rings just have to
breed for *something* and they're not sure what but need a direction to
go so they can have winners. Maybe what we need is to sponsor a trip for
SHOW JUDGES to hang out at a vet check and see what's *really* important
in the real world.
