Re: [RC] [RC] spooking/saddles - Christina McCarthy

I like the idea of conditioning a horse to "stop" when he/she gets scared and to look to me to guide them through it.
I am thinking about all the times I could of fallen off this last month and did not and wonder if the ortho-flex cutback had anything to do with it (the reinforced Knee area) vs the saddle I used yesterday, no knee rolls, straight leg western. What are bucking ?? thingy's for a saddle?
JJ is very honest, and his jumps to the side are only 5 feet vs 10 so I can ussually hang on. I agree with the other posters that I had absolutely no time to prevent this spook...again, I wonder if I had been in the other saddle would my seat have been more secure and I would of sat it out. Any opinions on this?
