[RC] Ice Boots - Winter, Randy or Cheryl

I'll put in a vote for DuraKold (now Pro Kold) and Mckinnon Ice Boots or
any other frozen insert system. Granted we have a freezer in our travel
trailer when we go to rides but when we didn't we treated the boots like we
would anything else we would want to keep cold and put freezer packs in with
the boots in an ice chest. That worked reasonably well to keep them frozen
until we needed them. We have Arbees but rarely use them because the other
two are so much more convenient that we use them more often. We will take
them on training rides in a cooler, put them on the horses legs when we get
back to the trailer and either leave them on for the short ride home or hang
around and relax while their legs are icing.
The Mckinnons are nice because the freezer packs mold well to the horses
legs and the DuraKold are nice because they stay cold so with just two boots
we can do both front and back legs.
For multi days I agree using the Arbees with ice is needed or some
evaporative system is better than nothing.
