Well folks,I could be a brat and comment that at least Some folks on Ridecamp
"appear to know all the answers" but that wouldn't be very productive or
helpful..so,what I meant was Carrie might have asked on this forum if anyone
had been to this ride(it's not a new ride)and gotten some hints as what was to
come(apparently no water at the vet check is a fact of this ride but water is
available at 12 &1/2 miles or 1/2 way thru the 25 mile LD that Carrie was
riding) Or she might have called the ride manager before leaving and
again,asked questions about conditions.And ,if she was un sure about what to do
with her already packed up vet check bag..ask someone if they would mind taking
it out for her("everyone else had a crew" so alot of trucks must have driven
out there).I don't know, but the 2 most important lessons I have taught new
riders(and there are quite a few I've introduced to the sport)about
competitions are Ride Your Own Ride & take care of your horse.If you can do
these things you are doing your best,,and sure,sh** happens but at least you
know you gave it your best shot!.
