I have heard of people taking Brewer's
Yeast pills before camping because the mosquitos don't like the scent it
gives off your skin. They take it several days before they leave for their trip.
My mom used to feed brewer's yeast powder mixed in her cat's wet food
to help with fleas and it did work! That was in the days before the new
Advantage drops. -----Karla Watson
WELL! Come up here to dear ol' New Hampshire! You
just might think differently. Up here, our state BIRD is the
Mosquito! I was out putting up fencing a few days ago and dressed
accordingly - so as not to let things like "eight-legged creepies" and ticks
into my clothing. However, thinking that because I HAD a T-shirt, a
sweatershirt, jeans and tall socks on, I would be set against the buzzing
kind. NOT! The little stinkers bit THROUGH my jeans. I have
had them bite thru my riding pants before, but never thru jeans - either they
were seriously hungry or some kind of mutant mosquito. I have skiter
bites on my TOOCUS! I am just amazed! AND that is after I sprayed
myself TWICE with OFF, or some other sort of bug repellent. Lesson to
learn: Never underestimate the armies at dusk, all that will save you in the
end is Mid-evil Armor and perhaps a good track record.
