[RC] Tarweed vs. Star Thistle - Mary Abbott

Just saw the posts from earlier this week about Tarweed... Years ago I got
Pygmy goats and Barbados sheep to help control the Star Thistle on my
property. (Costs about the same as renting a tractor and brush hog a couple
of times in the spring--which really doesn't work. Only cuts the stuff
shorter making it easier for horses to eat it along with grass.) Both get
along great with horses, and go for weeds before grass. I hardly have a
sprig of Start Thistle in any pasture any more. But this year---I've got
Tarweed. Ugh! Not even the sheep and goats will touch it! Might have to
resort to chemicals after all.
