I do want to note that at least some plants, cut in flower, can mature
the seeds and spread them!  (I know yellow star thistle -- Centaurea
solstitialis -- works this way.)  Recommendation for YST is to cut it
before it flowers -- it can take three years to eliminate in this
fashion.  Or, cut it when you like, but make sure you remove the
cuttings from the pasture.
