I go through this too, and even get some motion
sickness! The important thing is to eat before the
ride, even if you don't feel like it and to keep
yourself well hydrated. I also  take some pepto the
night before the ride and the morning of.

For me, the eating thing is really the key.  And I find the water does me
more good if I've eaten well--just like it does for the horses.

I've found that glugging some EmergenC before and
during the ride really helps me.

I had really hoped this might work for me as well, as I can drink EmergenC
in the mornings without getting ill.  But like most other such
supplements, it made me fairly nauseous when I tried to drink it during a
ride.  So I'm back to making sure I have a little something to eat to go
with my water, and chugging milk at vet checks... <sigh>
