Re: [RC] Mosquitoes and riding tights - rides2far

couldn't stand another bite on my outer thighs and calves (we were
in the
great mosquito
haven, Minnesota)

Oh geez....tell me about it~! I rode at Crow Hannsen this weekend,
and now I
have "chicken pox" looking legs. >;\ Raven

That does it. Looks like we'll be able to recognize the Minnesotans by
the cigars they smoke going down the trail. :-)

Back to our good ol' Southern B-52 horseflies. I may have found an
effective repellent yesterday...horsefly guts! I noticed after we'd
killed several the remainder of the flies swarmed around us, but never
seemed to land. :-) I've heard of putting a dead crow on a stick in your
garden for crows so who knows?

We are talking about all the tools we can use to keep our horses safe and
alive at the rides. Training/conditioning is one of the best tools
available. It makes us better horseman and women, it benefits our horses
and could quite possibly be the key to preventing most crashes.
