Here go MB - this is what the sucker looks like (and about the 
same size). They are quite harmless. A lot less dangerous than a 
rattler or rogue mountain lion.

Oh, we've got these in California, too.  Don't know about MB's 
part of the state, but I used to see them in the riverbed in 
Norco/Riverside all the time.  Now that I think about it, I 
haven't seen them in many years, I wonder why?
