[RC] Celebration postponed to another date - DAldr94141

Hello everyone. Well, Mother Nature really doesn't like us in this part of the world, Peninsula, Ohio.  In July of last year, we had some horrible flooding that took many of our horse trails, our towpath and, this was very interesting, the gravel underneath the railroad (the water came down like a waterfall from the hills behind them). The rails were hanging in mid air with nothing under them.
The Park took care of the railroad, the towpath and the footpaths. Us horsepeople have to fight and pull teeth to get our trails back. We weren't allowed to work on any culverts, stream crossings or bridges that were floated downstream until they gave us the ok. We were sitting on spurs and whips (pins and needles) waiting for them to give us the ok to work on them. Finally, they gave us the time and some manpower of their own but we could only work on what they wanted us to work on.
To this day, we still have miles of trail closed in the Cuy. Valley Nat'l Park BUT we were getting close to opening the much needed Perkins Trails so we could have our ride. Just one more work party. Just one more!!
Then the May 22st storm hit. More rain, more mud, more trees down and another bridge off it's foundation.
Our Celebration CTR ride was scheduled for June 26th and 27th but as it turns out, we don't have enough manpower, enough time and we don't have enough blowdryers to dry out the 6-8" deep mud.
So, our ride is rescheduled for Sept.11th. Sound familiar? I'm sorry but that's the date the Park gave us to have it and we must take it. We must have it. WE MUST PREVAIL!!
sorry
So please tell your friends who have planned on coming to this ride, tell your neighbors who were coming and tell anyone you think may be planning on coming and have them come in Sept. The weather should be a little cooler then and it'll be beautiful.
By the way, our wonderful vet/judge Maureen Fehrs may not be able to judge the ride on this date. If ANYONE knows of another person who's done this before, please please tell me who that is so I can contact them. No judge, no ride.
Thank you for your time and happy trails.
