[RC] 100 - kc85124All this talk of 100's sure does bring back memories. Remember one Foxfire ride in TX when my horse, Rebel's Traveler, came out of the last check with plenty of go left. Wanted to do his hugh fast trot but every time he did the heart moniter went up 20 beats or more to around 165-170. When he would walk it would read normal. I thought this might indicate a problem so walked the entire last loop in the dark. Louise Burton was with me at the time. When I got back and completed the ride I noticed my girth was pretty loose and that was what was causing the high reading!! Oh well, it was a nice night to be riding with a good friend and we never did get passed! Haven't wanted to ride a 100 since losing that great horse. He made it seem so easy after the first 50 miles. He was hard to rate so I liked the 100s since they started saner and after the first 50 he was a dream to ride! I completed 7 100's but none since 1994. I like splitting the 100's up into two days the bes t now!
