RE: [RC] re: lameness - Kathy Ramspott

Does anyone else have problems staying balanced 100% of the time while
trotting between trees around rocks WAY from the horse eating stump etc? I
am still walking up and down hills but even on the flat, through the woods
while posting I never get so off balance I feel like I'm going to fall but I
certainly don't stay perfectly centered through all the obstacles either
unless I am resting her by hovering over her back for a while. Do you
eventually get to the point of staying balanced all the time and I just have
a ways to go?

Aside from confirmation and shoeing issues, I believe the most common
causes of lameness in endurance horses is riders only posting on one
diagonal and cantering on only one lead. I also believe rider imbalance
is a major factor...especially as we age and accumulate injuries. Just my
thoughts...Cindy
