Re: [RC] [RC] Rope tied sidepull- halter - terry banister

Yes, theirs are flat-braided headstalls (which work great) but I don't know if they would be too tight under the jaw for your horse? Sportack's biothane and beta haldter/bridle/sidepulls are the same style, and are not tight under the chin or jaw (that's what I use).

I do have a KNOTTED-ROPE HALTER/SIDEPULL (sorry, can't remember where I got it), but the reason I don't use it for riding anymore is because WHEN YOU PULL ON ONE REIN, THE CHEEK STRAP ON THE OPPOSITE SIDE SLIDES UP INTIO THE HORSE'S EYE.
That is why the true sidepulls have that triangular-strap design at the cheek - so pressure can be put on the noseband, or pulled to the side for turning, without tweaking the whole headstall out of position.

If you truly want to use a knotted-rope style headstall, you might try a PARELLI one. They are not really a sidepull, but they work well and are loose-fitting under the chin (unless the knot would hit your horse in a bad spot).

Another good sidepull is the DIANA THOMPSON (www.dianathompson.com). Some of the straps are in a different location than standard sidepulls. She offerss a 30-day moneyback trial.

Can you tell I'm a shop-a-halteric?

>
> > I have looked at all the vendors on endurance.net, I KNOW someone out
> > there has this..seen pictures.
> >
> > I want a rope tied halter- side pull. Must NOT be tight under the
> > jaw. Omni has a bone growth that is getting too large, it is bumped
> > by the paso rope sidepull I use and the bitless bridle goes right over
> > the bump now.
> >
> > I need to change the head gear. I do not desire to use a bit, he
> > does not need one...
> >
> > I guess I could mod the bitless bridle.. may look at that option.
> > Thanks
