[RC] Horses Shot - Nancy Sturm

Our sympathy to your family for the loss of the one horse and the injuries
to the other.

My husband and his friends are bow hunters. Very probably this sort of
horrendous act was not perpetrated by a sports hunter, but what comes to
mind is that bow hunters have specific arrow and feather color patterns so
that they can find and identify their arrows. A local archery shop might be
able to recognize or perhaps even have record of the purchaser of those
particular arrows.

Riding alone is when you teach a horse all the "tools" and "cues" he needs
to handle the trail, to hold a speed, deal with hills, etc. It's also where
you develop the "bond" that causes him to "defer" to you before losing his
cool.
