[RC] Saddles for flat, short backed horses - Lynne Tomovick

Nancy,

Unfortunately you are not alone in the great saddle hunt, especially for maturing horses. It's a frustrating but educational experience.

Contact David Genedak at www.Aboutthehorse.com. He makes western saddles that are balanced for both rider and horse and might be about to help. He does not "microfit", which is especially beneficial for the growing horse.

My mother has an endurance style saddle from him (not pictured on his website) for her very short backed, mutton withered downhill horse. Her horse is extremely sensitive and very communicative with her :) Her horse moves beautifully in it!

David can make an endurance saddle out of cordura & leather for ~$995, custom. I plan to purchase one when I have some extra money!

I trust Dave. There is a gal in California riding one of his saddles, he might be able to give you her number.

Good Luck!
Lynne
