[RC] Dogs - June Scheunemann & Mike BernsdorfJust had to ask about different breeds and how your insurance handles that. I was just talking to my agent and I love having my doge around me. However, when renewing my insurance the agent was telling me I was lucky for the dogs I have as there are breeds they will not carry insurance for. Among the breeds he mentioned are German Shepherds, Dobermans, Rotweilers, St. Bernards. I would love to have a dog that could go with me on trails but, now am real leery about what breed to look at. Right now I have 2 bassets and 1 mix lab.....all are rescue dogs and just wonderful but,...as you can guess the bassets are not trail dogs ( not that they wouldn't love to go it's the getting them to come back that's the problem...Elmo tends to run at me and then right past me laughing all the way) Anyhow, do any of you with dogs have this problem with insurance and what breeds do you have??? June right now wouldn't be without my bassets as they have a heart of gold and the lab mix was a therapy dog in her younger years.
