[RC] Survivor's Trek and REAL endurance riders - mark

Roxanne Greene wrote:>>>This was a real endurance ride, straight out of the
70s and 80s, with the addition of water for the horses, Gatorade, and rider

there
aren't very many Old Warriors and horse Trekkers left out there who can
ride the distance, party around the campfire, and ride again the next
day.<<<<<

I am sorry I am 2500 miles away - I would have LOVED this ride. I am doing
Duck's XP2004 this summer for the very reason that: as my screensaver
scrolling marquee says, "I JUST WANNA RIDE" I couldn't care less about points,
awards, glory, or easy flat trails. I would consider it an honor to be
thought of someday as an Old Warrior and Trekker!!!!!!

We are talking about all the tools we can use to keep our horses safe and
alive at the rides. Training/conditioning is one of the best tools
available. It makes us better horseman and women, it benefits our horses
and could quite possibly be the key to preventing most crashes.
