[RC] Emphasizing BC - Sunnyland Arabians-L. Stewart and K. Weickhardt

From: <heidi@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> Subject: Re: [RC]   LD Best Condition

Lari, I like your way of doing BC.  But what keeps you from still doing
that, even if an AERC BC is awarded so that the LD riders in your region
can also be in competition for a national award? Why does it always have to be one or the other?  The two concepts ARE NOT mutually exclusive.>
Horses from our breeding program do endurance.  We provide the cheering section, rather than the riders (so far:)  My perspective is from observing and supporting the sport.  Recognition of BC should be elevated, I believe, across the board. That would be good for the horses- another way to promote and emphasize horse health and care.  It would be good for the riders- to reward efforts that result in a well-conditioned, well-managed team.  It would be good for the sport as it continues to self-assess and improve in the wake of disastrous, eye-opening trends.                       Kathleen
