[RC] cross cantering and using Quest - Ridecamp Guest

==========================================

I'm taking my 7 yo Arab to a vet tomorrow on the advice of a friend who also is
a riding instructor. She wonders if he might have "hock" problems because he
cross canters on both leads. If anyone has dealt with this issue, please email
me at knapp@xxxxxxxx He did several LD's last year but before I start putting
lots of miles on him, I want to make sure he will be ok.

Another issue with this horse: Last week I took him to a vet. I went out to
feed the horses, and he was very shaky and off his feed, even though he loves
to eat! The vet checked everything, including his fecal matter. By the time
we got to the vet, he was not shaky anymore and had pooped in the trailer. Vet
said their was iron in stool, which indicated worms - encysted strongids (sp?)
I think he said. He told me to give Quest every 75 days because it will take
care of all stages of these worms. He also said to not use any other wormer in
between. After that he has been fine - back on food, full of energy, looking
for spooks as usual. I have never heard of giving only Quest. I had given him
a benzal-something paste wormer about 3 - 4 weeks before but vet said that
didn't do anything. Any knowledge of this would be greatly appreciated.

Again, email me at knapp@xxxxxxx

I take the horse tomorrow morning, so please respond ASAP. Thanks in advance
