RE: [RC] [RC] Ponce De Leon Ride - Howard Bramhall

See, Heidi, things are different down here. lol. jk, jk, jk. (man, I seem to be saying that a lot, lately).

And, keep in mind, this was a Florida ride. I wonder where the ole biddies were? Well, I can tell you, if I'm the ole biddy, I wasn't there. Alas, wife had to fly out of town (she's a grandmother, first time with one of her own kids, from another marriage). She's been a step-grand mother (is there such a thing?) with one of mine, from a previous marriage (how many you got, Howard?), but, this one's kind of cool for her. You'll never see a better looking grandma anywhere. We start out young, down here in the South and we kind of like it that way.

Anyway, I'm so sorry I missed this ride because Kim Williams is one of the top notch ride managers we got down here and we got a bunch.

Don't ever miss a Southeast ride if you get the chance. I won't say they're the best in the world, cause I never really leave the South (there's some warrants out for me up North put out by one of my ex's), but, I can't see a ride giving a person anything more than what we have to offer down here. Ya'll come back now, ya hear?

cya,
Howard (LBL and Biltmore's coming up, sign up real quick; bet Biltmore's filled up already)

Well My first Flordia ride was perfect. The people were so very nice and the trail marked perfectly and dream weather. The ride manager did an outstanding job with every thing and such hospitality!!I must say endurance is vastly different here then in CA, not better or worse.. just different. I did the 75 mile ride in 9 1/2 hours the top two people finishing in 7 1/2 hours... That is a very very fast ride in my old neck of the woods ie Aburn Calif home of the tevis. I don't think I ever completed a 75 mile ride in better then 13 hours out west...The terrain at this ride was from a Calif girl's point of view is flat ( here in Flordia they said the ride had hills..but not really ) . My mare did great on her first South Eastern ride we came in fourth over all - she had A's all day and is looking great this AM.
I met a very sweet lady on the internet before I got here who was without a horse for the ride and so she crewed for me. I am so apprectiative of her kindness and would like to thank her but do not have her email address or phone number. Her name is Janette from Crestview FLA..please get back to me if you have her address or phone number - sorry I do not remember her last name.

I met many many friendly people..it is soo true about southern hospitality..simply very sweet people every where.

The whole ride experience can be very hard, and at times you question why
you put yourself through such abuse. But then you remember all those
moments when you pop up over a hill and are suddenly surrounded by the most
stunning views. It's just you and your horse and for a moment time stops
and you can hear the angels sing. Therein lies the addiction, at least for
me. ~ Leslie Beyers
