Re: [RC] [RC] [RC] [RC] Racing - Howard Bramhall

Well, you might want to look back and remember how Lincoln ended up. I'd hate for that to happen to a Ride manager or an endurance rider trying to enforce Heidi's rules.

OK, jk, jk, jk.

The loose dogs, loose kids and redneck hunters are not the norm down here at every endurance ride but, they do happen. I'm quite surprised this is never a problem at any of the rides out west. I don't believe it was a Southern ride where this gal recently got run over by a horse near the finish line which kind of started all this discussion in the first place.

I spent 6 years in Arizona, on two different trips, sponsored by the US Air Force, and kind of remember some good ole boys living out there deep in the desert, where I first started riding horses, who sure did resemble some of my southern non-riding cousins down here. I guess things have changed since then out there in Arizona.

Howard

LOL!

That's been my experience as well, Ed. A friendly discussion about what
is going on and a willingness to give directions to somewhere else
suitable for them to go usually has them happy to oblige and asking
questions about the sport. (Invariably the "how many days does it TAKE
you to ride 50 miles" question... <g>)

Our area was originally settled by southerners who lost all they had in
the War Between the States and came west to seek their fortunes. (That's
why we have places around here with names like Atlanta, Leesburg,
Gibbonsville, and Dahlonega Creek.) If I didn't know better from my
travels to the South, I'd suspect from Howard's posts that all the real
genlemen came West... ;-)
